SOMETHING MADE PASSAGE THROUGH THE DIMENSIONAL FORK

Original Teaser

If you are any kind of Phan and had access to a computer this past weekend, you'd have been aware that a 4 minute long trailer for 'Phantasm: Ravager' had leaked onto the interwebs. Some of you got to see it, but most of you didn't.

Original Teaser

The Silver Sphere Corp and Co-Producer, Gigi Bannister have been "dropping the hammer" on people who have continuously attempted to upload the trailer or anything visual, but I received permission to use a few stills from said extended trailer.

Extended Trailer
Synopsis:

It starts off with a voice over from Mike, who is talking with Reggie about multiple dimensions and being 2 places at once. Reggie, who's looking disheveled sitting in his wheelchair at the hospital, appears to be having that very problem. All the while, there are images of the Tall Man and what appears to be Reggie's reality partially melting away to see himself holding the 4-barrel shotgun in a different environment, and giant spheres laying waste to a city. There is also a tracking shot of a seemingly infinite number of Tall Men that ends at dimensional fork. When Mike sees Reggie's blank expression as he attempts to explain "Membrane Theory," he tells Reggie he will send him the book. Reggie says, "Books, I don't need. A fuckin' 4-barrel shotgun is more like it."

Extended Trailer
Next, clocking in at 2:30 is the sequence of the Lady in Lavender stalking Reggie in the mausoleum. Reggie has a bag of weapons, and most notably, a sword sticking out of the bag. As he walks down the halls, he hears the all too familiar sound of a dwarf, but naturally, when Reggie turns, there is nothing there. Suddenly, the Lady in Lavender floats pass him while his back is turned. He rounds a corner and proceeds down a hall, then stops and turns around to see the sexy Lady in Lavender (Kathy "Kat" Lester) at the other end of the hall staring at him. As she suddenly starts floating towards him, Reggie starts remembering when she killed him in the original film. When she gets to him, she starts caressing his face, then leans in to kiss him, but pulls back and...

Extended Trailer
Then we are assaulted with a barrage of quick cuts featuring some shots of the Tall Man from 'Oblivion,' Reggie being restrained on a table, a sphere coming out of a corpse, Reggie walking with someone and saying "I-I-I think I'm losin' it. I don't even know what's real anymore," Mike and Reggie armed and dangerous in the red zone, Reggie hiding and almost getting hit by the prongs of a sphere, a large piece of mountainous terrain crumbling in a large storm to the voice over of the Tall Man saying, "You're not even real. You're my bad dream," the 'Cuda armed with machine guns on the hood driven by...

Extended Trailer
...Jody, who looks very much alive, Daniel Robuck fighting with a sphere before he gets impaled, Mike shooting an undead soldier, a helicopter following one of the giant spheres, 2 figures standing on a tall, but narrow sliver of mountain, the Tall Man saying, "Stay out of my way," a Dwarf opening its eyes for the first time, Reggie being attacked by a dwarf, a fast tracking shot towards Reggie pointing a gun at something, then the final shot is of Reggie, apparently telling his story to a woman, who says, "That really is an amazing story," to which Reggie replies, "Epic, actually." Then...

Extended Trailer
"Booooooyyyyyyy!"

Gathering from what I've seen, 'Phantasm: Ravager' is going to be dealing with multiple realities, which makes sense if you think about it when you consider some of the flashback scene in 'Oblivion;' like Mike and Jody hanging the Tall Man from a tree. We all know that never happened. It was a deleted scene. But now with different dimensions, it all makes sense. Different Mikes, Jodies, and Reggies dealing with things in their own way.

Original Teaser
After 'Oblivion,' there were 2 scripts written for a potential sequel, 'Phantasm 2012' by Roger Avery and 'Phantasm Forever' by Stephen Romano. '2012' dealt with a post apocalyptic reality, in which the the Tall Man released a plague unto the earth. 'Forever' dealt with Mike waking up after a long coma in a hospital having trouble coping with reality, and was supposed to be a reboot.

Original Teaser
The shots from 'Phantasm' and 'Oblivion' were remastered in Hi-Def and look gorgeous. Eventually, there will be a blu-ray box set released. Could it be when 'Ravager' is finally released? Maybe, but the point is, it's movie nature: 'Phantasm' has a big enough following that it demands as much. Also, why would they only remaster snippets of the films and not the whole thing? Kind of like what they did when 'Texas Chainsaw 3D' was released and had that great remastered footage of the original 'TCM' in the opening credits. Low and behold, it was for a 4K remastered version for its 40th anniversary.

Extended Trailer
I, for one, am beyond amped for this film...probably more than any other sequel to a film ever! Yeah, I'm excited for 'Star Wars,' but c'mon, who the hell isn't? To be a 'Phantasm' phan is to love these films so much that even though there are many, MANY years in between sequels, you are still devoted and excited. I've seen people getting impatient with how long this is taking, and that it will never come out, blah, blah, blah...

Keep the faith, Phans, 'Phantasm: Ravager' will be released. We've waited this long...
